Bible verses about patience for men

Scripture connects patience to strength rather than passivity. Being slow to anger is described as understanding; being quick to it is described as folly. Patience is what a man does with the gap between provocation and response.

James 1:19–20

Quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger—in that order, deliberately.

JAS.1.19-20
Listening and Doing
19 My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, 20 because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.
